Karriem Riggins joins re/works by Epidemic Sound with a rework of 'Soul Searching'

Drummer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Karriem Riggins is the latest artist to join re/works by Epidemic Sound, reimagining Katori Walker's 'Soul Searching' as the next release in the company's ongoing series inviting celebrated musicians to rework tracks from its catalog.

Karriem Riggins joins the series with a rework of 'Soul Searching' by Epidemic Sound artist Katori Walker.

The track is available today in Epidemic Sound's platform for creators and brands worldwide, and across all major streaming services.

A career built between jazz and hip-hop

Karriem Riggins has spent decades moving between the jazz and hip-hop worlds, working as a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and rapper. Raised in Detroit, he was playing drums for Betty Carter by age 17 and went on to record with Common, J Dilla, Slum Village, the Roots, and Erykah Badu, alongside jazz artists including Diana Krall, Ray Brown, and Roy Hargrove. He released his own albums, Alone and Together, in 2012, and has since worked with Paul McCartney, Kanye West, Esperanza Spalding, and Norah Jones. He produced Common's Black America Again in full and released Headnod Suite in 2017.
