Stockholm, Sweden – Epidemic Sound, named as the second-fastest growing Swedish technology company on the Financial Times’ list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, announces the appointment of Ellen Kvarby - a former Sony Music executive - as Vice President of Marketing.

Following the news that Epidemic raised $20million to continue on their journey to Soundtrack the World, Kvarby’s appointment will see her take on the responsibility for overseeing and shaping Epidemic’s marketing and collaboration campaigns with its growing network of global creators.

As the former Head of Creative at Sony Music Sweden, Kvarby founded, lead and developed their In-house Agency, which collected several awards for its groundbreaking approach.

Working directly with the Swedish band, kent, Kvarby managed the campaign “Funeral For kent - Sweden’s Biggest Rock Band”, which received one Lion and three nominations at Cannes Lions 2017, as well as the award for “Best Campaign of the Year” award at Inhousegalan 2017.

Kvarby’s track record of driving the success of creators also stems back to 2015 where she led a campaign with the Swedish artist Linnea Henriksson, which was recognized at Inhousegalan winning the “Best Digital Activation of the Year”.

Oscar Höglund, Co-Founder and CEO of Epidemic, says: “We’re seeing more and more creators - from both the music and content creation worlds - than ever joining Epidemic on its mission to Soundtrack the World.

We’re delighted to welcome Ellen to the Epidemic team and excited by the impact her proven, creator-first approach will have in helping to fuel the creative and commercial success of our world class creators”.

Ellen Kvarby, VP Marketing at Epidemic, says: “Epidemic's journey is one I’ve followed for a long time. I’m excited to continue creating powerful marketing campaigns alongside our creators to really contribute towards Epidemic’s mission of Soundtracking the World.”

Kvarby’s appointment also follows the announcements that Kate Vale (formerly of Google, YouTube and Spotify) has joined Epidemic as Managing Director, North America and Maria Waddington (formerly of Readly) has joined as Chief of People and Culture.
