Epidemic Sound releases second Extra Version track featuring Major Lazer co-founder Switch

Stockholm, Sweden, July 11, 2025 – Epidemic Sound, the world’s leading music company for the creator economy, today announced the release of the second track from its innovative Extra Version program – this time featuring legendary producer, DJ, and Major Lazer co-founder Switch. The new release, “Kali Kush (Switch Remix)”, is a powerful reinterpretation of a track originally created by Epidemic Sound artists Lawd Ito and VEE. Switch’s signature production – beat-driven, multi-layered, and globally inspired – brings a new edge to the original composition.
Now available across all major streaming platforms and within Epidemic Sound’s catalog, “Kali Kush (Switch Remix)” is fully licensable for content creators and brands to use in videos, podcasts, ads, and more.
The Extra Version program launched on May 28th with a mix from the iconic Honey Dijon, who reimagined “Umbélé” – originally composed by electronic artist Ooyy and Swedish Grammy winner Ebo Krdum. Powered by Epidemic Sound’s vast online reach, the track quickly took off, now amassing over 120 million views on YouTube, along with 30 million views and over 11,000 video creations using the song on TikTok. It has also earned airtime on BBC Radio 1’s Club Mix with Danny Howard.
This latest remix by Switch underscores the program’s mission: to spotlight global musical talent, breathe new life into existing tracks, and provide creators with exclusive access to world-class sounds.
“Had fun flipping ‘Kali Kush’ for Epidemic Sound... wasn’t out to reinvent the wheel, just laced it with my flavour”, said Switch. “The vocal had that grit, so I leaned into it. Kept it raw, built something that moves in the club but still holds the original’s bite. No fuss. Big up the Epidemic crew for letting me take it for a spin.”
“Switch’s involvement in Extra Version speaks to the creative ambition of Extra Version,” said Oscar Höglund, CEO and co-founder of Epidemic Sound. “The program brings together influential global artists and top content creators to amplify remixes, expand their reach, and give creators access to music that truly connects. It’s a forward-looking move that supports artist discovery, boosts brand impact, and ensures music stays culturally relevant across platforms over time.”
Extra Version offers artists a platform to experiment and collaborate while tapping into Epidemic Sound’s powerful distribution model. With music from Epidemic Sound featured over 3 billion times daily across YouTube and TikTok, the program ensures unparalleled exposure and impact. The next Extra Version release features South Korean producer and DJ, Jeonghyeon, releasing on August 22nd. Additional artist collaborations will be released monthly, starting in September, 2025.
"Kali Kush (Switch Remix)" is available now via the Epidemic Sound platform and all major streaming services.
