Stockholm, Sweden, November 20, 2025 – Epidemic Sound, a music tech company and the leading soundtracking platform for creators and brands, today announces the nomination of a new composition of its Board of Directors in which Co-Founder and tech entrepreneur, Hjalmar Winbladh, will rejoin as Chairperson. The appointment will support the company’s focus on high-velocity product deployment, commercialization of human-first AI, and deeper integration as the leading soundtracking platform within the global creator economy.
Epidemic Sound is focused on two emerging industry shifts: the rapid expansion of the creator economy beyond individual contributors to include agencies, SMBs and large enterprises, and the company's technical breakthroughs in human-first AI, revolutionizing the process of soundtracking content safely for content creators, and expanding the ways artists can thrive from their craft.
“Through our recent launches of Adapt, AI Assistant, and Studio, Epidemic Sound is not just participating in the market, we are actively defining a new category at the intersection of human artistry, the creator economy, and AI,” said Oscar Höglund, Co-Founder and CEO of Epidemic Sound. “We are seizing this immense opportunity to cement Epidemic Sound’s position as the leading AI-native soundtracking platform. Hjalmar’s appointment injects founder DNA back into our strategic core, adding a visionary force that aligns perfectly with our ambition to deliver world-class AI products and drive the next generation of innovation for our customers.”
Winbladh is a seasoned Swedish entrepreneur and investor with a proven track record of founding and scaling multiple technology companies to international success. Over the past two decades, he has co-founded and led ventures such as Sendit, Rebtel, and Epidemic Sound, combining deep technological insight with strategic acumen to drive sustainable growth and innovation. His background spans early-stage company building, venture capital, and corporate innovation, establishing him as one of the most influential figures in the Nordic startup ecosystem.
“Epidemic Sound has already built the definitive model for a fair, safe, and sustainable creator music ecosystem,” commented Hjalmar Winbladh, Co-Founder and newly appointed Chairperson of the Board. “The opportunity ahead of us is limitless. My focus is to unlock the full potential of our innovation roadmap, ensuring we remain the premier and most forward-thinking partner for artists, creators, SMBs, and enterprises as the AI music revolution unfolds. I am honored and energized to help lead this powerhouse team at such a pivotal and exciting moment for the industry.”
The new Board of Directors will be constituted by Hjalmar Winbladh (Chairperson), Victor Englesson (representing EQT), Nicolas Dupuis (representing Blackstone), Birgit Haderer (independent), and Jan Zachrisson (representing the founders). As part of this transition, Board Directors Andrew Fisher, Kirsten Wolberg, and Adrienne Gormley will step down.
"I want to sincerely thank Andrew, Kirsten, and Adrienne for their dedicated service and expert counsel," added Oscar Höglund. "Their leadership was fundamental in scaling Epidemic Sound into a globally recognized technology leader in the creator economy. Their work in establishing strong governance and operational foundations for a company of our scale now enables this strategic focus towards accelerated investment and execution in an AI-centric world."
Victor Englesson, Partner, Global Co-Head of TMT at EQT Group, and Board Member, commented: “Andrew, Kirsten, and Adrienne have provided immense value during a critical period of professionalization and global expansion for Epidemic Sound. On behalf of the shareholders, I want to recognize their sharp strategic guidance. They helped build the robust, scalable company that Epidemic Sound is today, and their contributions have been fundamental to our success. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and wish them the very best.”
Andrew Fisher, outgoing Chairperson of Epidemic Sound, comments: “I am extremely proud of what the Epidemic team and Board have achieved over the past four years, having significantly scaled the business and created a platform for sustained long-term future growth.
