Epidemic Sound Co-founder and CEO Oscar Höglund receives Epicenter Changemaker Award 2025
Stockholm, Sweden – Epidemic Sound’s CEO and Co-founder Oscar Höglund has received the Changemaker Award from the digital innovation house, Epicenter. The award recognizes individuals who have driven real change for an industry and for Sweden as a whole, doing so in a way that can teach and inspire current and future entrepreneurs and leaders.
From an initial list of 40 individuals – including Daniel Ek, Co-Founder and CEO at Spotify, Jacob De Geer, Swedish entrepreneur, Co-Founder and former CEO of iZettle, and Linnea Kornehed, Co-Founder and Deputy CEO, Einride – Epicenter then chose a final top eight nominees, of which Oscar eventually took home the Jury’s Choice award.
The jury was made up of Ola Ahlvarsson (Epicenter, Elements), Matilda Andersson (Breakit), Anna Wikland (Google), Jonas Engwall (Knoxville, DBT, Sitoo, Exopen), Carl-Henrik Koit (Almi), and as motivation for their decision they noted:
- Epidemic Sound has reshaped the music industry to be more accessible and has fundamentally pivoted the way professional creators and brands can add sound experience to their productions.
- Being valued at 12,2 billion SEK, with positive profits, with more than 560 employees, and offices in Stockholm and internationally, Epidemic Sound has created a real positive impact on Sweden, Swedish talent, as well as the Swedish innovation footprint internationally.
- As one of the founders, and acting CEO, Oscar Höglund has played a vital role in the growth journey of Epidemic Sound. His relentless perseverance to keep trying, pivoting, and reshaping the value offering. With his honest, brave, and resilient approach to entrepreneurship and leadership - he serves as a great role model and teacher for today’s and the future’s generation of innovators and leaders.
