Epidemic Sound announces intention to enter a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for employees in Sweden
Stockholm, September 23, 2024 - Epidemic Sound, the Swedish-founded soundtracking platform for content creation, has announced today its intention to enter a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with Swedish labor unions Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer.
CEO and co-founder Oscar Höglund said:
“Epidemic Sound is now 15 years old. I’m proud that over that time, we’ve grown the company around a core set of great values, created a unique workplace culture, and offered a competitive employment package to attract and retain the best talent from across Sweden and the world. We’re now at the stage in our company’s history where it feels right to make that step in entering into a CBA which provides a long-standing and trusted framework for constructive employer/employee relations.”
Following a period of consultation and preparation, it is anticipated that the CBA will be implemented in 2025 and will apply to all Epidemic Sound AB and Overtone Studios AB employees in Sweden.
Höglund continues:
“To reach this stage we’ve already had a number of months of constructive discussions with our local unions. It’s important that we now take this time to continue to work closely together with Swedish labor unions Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer and with our employer organization Teknikföretagen to get the necessary work completed to ensure a smooth implementation starting next year. I look forward to that happening while we continue to create amazing music and an unrivalled sounddtracking experience for the world’s content creators.”
